However, the\r\n coordination of policies between the Federal and State Governments in respect of forest\r\n management, particularly to ensure sustainable forest management is facilitated through\r\n the National Land Council (NLC).</p>\r\n <p>The National Forestry Act 1984, Sabah Forest Enactment 1968 and Sarawak’s Forests\r\n Ordinance Cap 126 are laws which augment sustainable forest management. This is done to\r\n ensure the sustainable management of Malaysia’s forest. It is chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of\r\n Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), with\r\n membership from state economic planning units, forestry departments,\r\n relevant federal ministries as well as non-governmental organisations\r\n (NGOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs).</p>\r\n <p><span style=\"bold!important; font-size: 24px!Important; color: #006838;\">National\r\n Technical Committee</span><br>The National Technical Committee (NTC)\r\n on REDD Plus supports the NSC, in that it provides methodological\r\n guidance on REDD Plus implementation and formulates national action\r\n plans, supported by several working groups. It is chaired by the Deputy\r\n Secretary General (Natural Resources) of NRES. The NTC also\r\n coordinates and oversees the work of three working groups which are\r\n responsible for the key elements of REDD Plus implementation. These\r\n include:</p>\r\n <p><span style=\"color: #58a946;\">The Safeguards Working Group</span> –\r\n responsible for the content of the safeguards as well as preparing\r\n periodic Safeguards Summary reports.</p>\r\n <p><span style=\"color: #58a946;\">The LULUCF Working Group</span> –\r\n responsible for preparing relevant reports in accordance with the\r\n principles of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) as\r\n well as coordinating greenhouse gas inventory for the LULUCF (land use,\r\n land use change, forestry) sector.</p>\r\n <p><span style=\"color: #58a946;\">The Finance Working Group</span> –\r\n responsible for ensuring that verified results in reducing emissions in\r\n line with REDD Plus requirements are compensated with the correct\r\n payment.</p>\r\n </div>\r\n </div>\r\n </div>\r\n </div>\r\n </div>\r\n </section>\r\n </div>\r\n </div>\r\n </div>\r\n </section>\r\n</div>"
